Cartonnage with Cathie at Pinspiration
December 15 @ 2:00pm
Let’s craft some memories!Looking for a new craft? Join instructor Cathie Heier at the studio to learn the art of Cartonnage! Cartonnage is the process of covering chipboard with fabric to build beautiful, useful things. We will be making a simple box that is perfect for your pens, scissors, rulers, paintbrushes, or other things, along with a reusable notebook cover (notebook not included.) You can make your pieces to match or use different fabrics for each item. These would be great gifts for the upcoming holiday. This is an advanced project and intended for guests aged 15 and up.
You will need to bring 2 different coordinating pieces of fabric, 1/3 yard each. Fabric can be provided by the instructor for an additional $7 (please select this option at checkout so we know to have fabric available for you.) Available color choices shown below, but note that there is a limited supply of each; selection of fabric will occur at the event on a first come, first served basis. It will take approximately 3.5 – 4 hours to complete both projects.
A little about Cathie: “I have always enjoyed crafting and started at a young age. It brings me such joy to create. Over the years I have done numerous crafts and when a friend introduced me to Cartonnage 4 years ago I was hooked. I love fabric and to be able to make such unique things, for myself or to personalize for gifts, is so fun.”
Ticket cost is $60 per person and includes materials and specialty tools needed to create one (1) storage box and (1) reusable notebook cover; please bring your own fabric or add fabric for an additonal $7. A $12 deposit is required to reserve your spot, with the remaining balance due the day of the event. All ticket purchases are final; sales are non-refundable and non-transferable. *No Refunds. Studio credit will be issued if the event is missed to use toward a future visit. Spaces are limited, and reservations are required.
