Bringing their national outing to Bozeman this month, Irish music and dance sensation A Taste of Ireland comes to the Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture for one night only as part of their current tour. The performance is set for Tuesday, June 3rd, beginning at 7:30pm. Enjoy the story of Ireland’s tumultuous history delivered with a pint of Irish wit.
After premiering Off-Broadway last season, the ensemble returns to stages across the United States, performing the show that has entertained thousands around the globe. Laugh, cry and jig into the night with a production that is Celtic, for this generation. Performed by former World Irish dance champions, and featuring dancers from Lord of the Dance and Riverdance. Watch world-class performers blend melodic folk mash-ups, live jaw-dropping acapella tap battles and heartwarming story telling.
Following on Thursday, June 19th, comedian Brad Williams brings his “Growth Spurt Tour” to the Emerson. The single-night set begins at 7:30pm. Get ready for a night of laughs with one of the most in-demand funnymen working today.
His first one-hour special, ‘Fun Size,’ was the highest rated special on Showtime. His second, ‘Daddy Issues,’ prompted The New York Times to write, “No one is doing stand-up comedy more hilariously than Brad Williams.” Williams’ other special on Netflix, ‘The Degenerates,’ garnered huge ratings and rave reviews.
Recently, he became the first comedian in the history of Cirque du Soleil to headline and sell out their newest show, ‘Mad Apple,’ in a brand new 1200-seat theater at the New York New York Hotel in Las Vegas. This year he has continued to sell out (and add multiple shows of) every size of venue on his calendar at mock speed. No wonder the late Robin Williams called him “Prozac with a head.”
Advanced tickets for A Taste of Ireland and Brad Williams begin at $35 and $39.50, respectively, and are available through www.theemerson.org. Located at 111 S Grand Ave., the Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture serves as a primary resource for the arts, arts education and cultural activities in Southwest Montana. •
