ELM features NYE with Kitchen Dwellers, more touring acts
With the summer tour and festival schedule long behind us, live music afficionados can take comfort in a regular schedule of indoor events at the ELM. The Bozeman venue will continue to bring national acts Southwest Montana this winter season. Here’s a look at just a few of the upcoming happenings.
Prof brings his “Home Alone Tour” to Bozeman on Thursday, December 16th. J. Plaza, Andrew Thomas and Willy Wonka will open the show at 7:30pm. Advance tickets are $22.
Prof’s initial releases Liability and Pookie Baby catapulted the hip-hop artist onto the scene, which saw him headlining large capacity shows and releasing videos viewed by the millions. His imaginative artistry revealed his numerous talents as a rapper, singer, performer, actor, visual artist and more. Although it was Prof’s energy and persona that grabbed his audience’s attention, it was his artistic range that held onto it.
Following on Dec. 18th is Reggie Watts with a Saturday night show. Music starts at 8pm. Advance tickets start at $35.
The internationally renowned musician, comedian, writer and actor currently stars as the bandleader on CBS’s The Late Late Show with James Corden. Using his formidable voice, looping pedals, and his vast imagination, Watts blends and blurs the lines between music and comedy, wowing audiences with performances that are 100% improvised. As a solo performer, Watts’ brand of musical-comedy fusion has led to sold out headlining tours in the U.S. and Europe.
It’s a New Year’s double-header featuring the Kitchen Dwellers on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 30th and 31st. Music begins at 8pm both nights. Advance tickets start at $30.
The local four-piece has transcended traditional genre boundaries, blending virtuosic bluegrass wizardry with ecstatic rock and roll energy and adventurous psychedelia. With their latest full-length release, Muir Maid, the group seamlessly blends the past, present and future of string band music to create their most daring and collaborative work yet. Produced by The Infamous Stringdusters’ Chris Pandolfi, Muir Maid is built around live performances that capture the intoxicating energy of band’s concerts and showcase their dazzling musicianship, airtight harmonies and transportive storytelling. Recent singles “Stand at Ease” and “Hey You” are also available now.
Looking to the new calendar, comedic personality Steve-O brings a pair of shows as part of his “Bucket List Tour” on Tuesday, January 4th. Late show starts at 7pm, followed by a late night set at 10pm. Advance tickets start at $45.
Since his Jackass days with Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O has had continued success as a New York Times best-selling author with the release of his memoir, Professional Idiot. He’s also established himself as a force in the world of stand-up comedy. Steve-O is thrilled to be releasing his new, profoundly multimedia, and wildly explicit comedy special, direct to his fans at steveo.com. It’s called “Gnarly” for good reason.
