Downtown Bozeman’s Ellen Theatre invites audiences to return for Montana TheatreWorks’ latest production, Julian Fellowes’ Mary Poppins. Performances will begin July 11th and run through July 28th. Tickets are on sale now.
Montana TheatreWorks proudly presents this Tony Award-winning smash. Featuring a cast of 26 and a sterling 16-piece live orchestra, audiences will enjoy such familiar tunes as “A Spoonful of Sugar,” “Chim Chim Cher-ee,” “Let’s Go Fly a Kite,” “Step in Time” and more. To ensure that your trip to 1910 London is practically perfect in every way, the show features two guest artists from New York. The multi-talented Gail Bennett and Jesse Swimm, who played Mary and Bert on the Broadway First National Tour, are coming to Bozeman to star on stage at the historic Ellen Theatre.
Based on the books by P.L. Travers and one of Disney’s most beloved movies, the stage musical Mary Poppins focuses on Jane and Michael Banks, who drive away yet another nanny, only to meet a most magical person who is, in a word, Supecalifragilistic! Mary Poppins, with her unique blend of discipline and enchantment, takes the children on exciting adventures, with unforgettable songs and exhilarating dance numbers, all while ultimately teaching the family how to love and value each other once again.
Julian Fellowes’ Mary Poppins is presented by Montana TheatreWorks, producers of Oklahoma!, Annie, Damn Yankees, White Christmas, The Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof and its annual production of A Christmas Carol.
Numerous performances of Mary Poppins will be held July 11th–28th with evening shows and Sunday matinees. Tickets to this summer production are $51.75 with premium seating available. This production is recommended for children ages four and up.
Wine, beer and concessions will be sold in the lobby one hour before each show. Ticketing and further information about these performances and upcoming events is available at www.theellentheatre.org. For additional inquiries, call the box office at (406) 585-5885. •
