Host to stage and screen entertainment of all varieties, Downtown Bozeman’s Ellen Theatre is also a great place to catch a show by touring acts. Here’s a look who’s set to visit in the coming weeks.
The Ellen welcomes California Guitar Trio on Thursday, October 20th at 7:30pm. Since 1991, the group has enthralled listeners with a singular sound that fearlessly crisscrosses genres. The trio’s questing spirit drives it to explore the intersections between rock, jazz, classical and world music. It even throws in the occasional surf or spaghetti Western tune for good measure! In addition to dazzling musicianship and interplay, the trio’s shows are full of captivating stories and humor that enable concertgoers to feel like they’re part of the music. The group’s goal is to transcend their instruments, so people focus on the music first, and its considerable technical prowess a distant second. All seats are $30.50.

Modern Rock Orchestra returns to Bozeman with an Ellen concert on Saturday, October 29th at 7pm. Join renowned composer and guitarist Grant Ferguson for a night of high energy orchestral rock. His melodic, powerful instrumental rock band is joined by a full string section featuring prominent local symphony players for an evening of original, beautifully soaring orchestral rock. Seats range from $21.50–$31.50.
Bluegrass harmony trio The Wailin’ Jennys are set for Wednesday, November 2nd at 7:30pm. Starting as a happy accident of solo singer/songwriters getting together for a one-time-only performance at a tiny guitar shop in Winnipeg, The Wailin’ Jennys have grown over the years into one of today’s most beloved international folk acts. They continue to create some of the most exciting music on the folk-roots scene, stepping up their musical game with each critically lauded recording and thrilling audiences with their renowned live performances. See venue website for ticketing details.
Coming soon to the Ellen: PechaKucha Night on Nov. 9th and 10th, Storyhill Nov. 25th, and more to be announced. See venue website for additional details.
Wine, beer and concessions will be sold in the lobby one hour before each event. Ticketing and further information about these and other upcoming happenings is available at www.theellentheatre.org. For additional inquiries, call the box office at (406) 585-5885. •
