Ellen concerts showcase renowned talents downtown
The long-dormant stage at Downtown Bozeman’s historic Ellen Theatre is no longer with a busy schedule of upcoming events. Here’s a look at some of the live music in the coming weeks.
Grammy-winning jazz master John Pizzarelli and his trio perform for Ellen audiences Sunday, April 10th at 7pm. With Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole as influences, Pizzarelli is renowned for his warmth, smooth style, and great sense of humor. He’s been praised by the Boston Globe for “reinvigorating the Great American Songbook and re-popularizing jazz!” All seats are $49.50.
Matt Nakoa takes the stage Friday, April 29th at 8pm. This award-winning singer/songwriter was last seen at the Ellen while on tour with folk music legend Tom Rush. The Boston Globe attests “between his piano chops and heartfelt originals on guitar, he drops jaws.” All seats are $21.50.
Bon Debarras performs on Friday, May 6th at 7:30pm. Through guitar, banjo, violin and harmonica, the trio fuses Quebecois folk music, traditional step-dancing and global influences for an energetic show that transcends boundaries and ages. All seats are $22.25.
Legendary cowboy singing group Sons of the Pioneers are set for Sunday, May 8th at 7:30pm. Members of the Country Music Hall of Fame, the band is praised by the Grand Ole Opry as “American icons known around the world for their trademark harmonies and haunting lyrics that tell the story of the American West.” All seats are $28.50.
World-renowned guitarist John Jorgenson and his bluegrass band, J2B2, return to the Ellen on Wednesday, May 11th at 7:30pm.
