Ellen concerts offer melodic escape from today’s many troubles
Live music has returned to the historic stage at Downtown Bozeman’s Ellen Theatre. This month will see a variety pack of performances by musicians showcasing the classics and contemporary genres.
One of Scotland’s most popular folk-based groups, Talisk, performs for Ellen audiences on Monday, February 14th at 7pm. The group has garnered a die-hard following after appearing at major folk festivals across the globe, and has been lauded by leading world music magazine Songlines as… “Incredibly infectious and endearing… fresh, invigorating, accomplished.” All seats are $27.50.
Live from Laurel Canyon appears next on Thursday, Feb. 17th at 7:30pm. This concert is a 90-minute retrospective of music and stories from some of the most influential artists of Laurel Canyon including The Mamas & The Papas, James Taylor, the Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, Joni Mitchell and more. All seats are $35.50.
The Ellen presents “Gypsy Jazz Night” on Friday, Feb. 18th at 7:30pm. This festive evening of live music and 1920s dance celebrates the music of famed musical duo Stéphane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt, plus many favorites from the Great American Songbook and beyond. Remember to bring your dancing shoes! There will be room to ‘Cut a Rug.’ All seats are $26.50.
Another special evening of music, International Guitar Night, returns to The Ellen on Friday, Feb. 25th at 7:30pm. This 22nd Anniversary concert features an eclectic lineup of guitar masters from around the world – Italy’s acoustic rock sensation Luca Stricagnoli; progressive classical guitarist Thu Le from Vietnam; Hawaii’s Slack Key master Jim “Kimo” West, and Latin Swing pioneer Lulo Reinhardt from Germany. All seats are $29.50.
Masks will be required for all attendees. Wine, beer and concessions will be sold in the lobby one hour before each event.
