Downtown Bozeman’s Eagles Bar pours a mean live music double, featuring the very best talent the Valley has to offer with regular Wednesday acoustics and weekend jamming. Here’s a look at what’s happening in the coming weeks.
Local rockstars Tsunami Funk delivers on June 1st. The Bozeman-favorite group always packs the dance floor with Funk/R&B-rocking grooves. They play tunes from artists like Stevie Wonder, Pharrell Williams, Bruno Mars, Red Hot Chili Peppers, James Brown, Earth Wind & Fire, Sly & the Family Stone, Kool & the Gang, Van Morrison, Steely Dan, Bob Marley and more.
Take in the acoustic stylings of local favorite Mathias on June 5th. With powerful vocals and a percussive guitar style, he’s known for his dynamic live performances full of acoustic folk, rock, and funk tunes.
Enjoy the original country rock of Dead Yellers on June 7th and 8th. Founded by frontman Peter King, the music follows a theme of courage in the face of adversity, delivered in an upbeat, western roots format, ultimately leaving the audience feeling hopeful and happy. Sometimes joined by fiddle, pedal steel, bass and harmonica, this group always brings something unique to their performances.
Bird Dog Brian Kassay brings a solo performance on June 12th. The local musician mixes guitar, violin, keyboard and harmonica in creation of his unique, live-looping performances.
The Love Darts follow June 14th and 15th. The hard rock punk band got its start playing venues like the Haufbrau, having since grown into a fine-tuned project featuring some of Bozeman’s most energetic guitarists. Take a listen to their self-professed “sloppy rock n’ roll” on their newly released EP, Girly.
The Eagles will host a special Thursday night concert on June 20th featuring Endless Struggle and Göners ÜK. The kickoff show for their “Where Do We Go?” summer tour begins at 7pm. The evening will feature opening support from Dipshits and The Rocking Chads. The show is free of admission.
Setting up for another weekend of shows is local punk band GOOCHSLAM on June 21st and 22nd. The trio comprised of Cooper Tedford (guitar), Har Larson (bass) and Luke Scheeler (drums) is establishing itself as one of Bozeman’s best punk-rock bands with an always energetic stage presence.
Poison Lovers guitarist and vocalist Robert Lethert delivers a solo show on June 26th. Expect a blend of old school country and contemporary Americana. His strong gravely voice will perfectly complement your evening at the downtown tavern.
The last weekend of the month sees the return of Dilly Dilly on June 28th and 29th. The lively shows will feature a selection of your favorite rockin’ hits and plenty of room to dance.
Exercise your pipes with Karaoke Night sponsored by Bozeman’s Best Entertainment Group, setting up at FOE every Thursday. Sing your heart out and cheer on your friends! Sign-ups start at 9pm.
Make sure to check out Bridger Mountain Big Band on Sunday nights. The ensemble performs at 7pm. The 17-piece jazz orchestra celebrates the music of Duke Ellington, Count Basie and more, with original arrangements and music of all genres from the 1900s to today. Acoustic Wednesdays start at 8pm and weekend bands are on at 9pm. Head downtown for some great live music or stop into the Eagles for a cold one when the next hankering hits. •
