Beneath the glow of its iconic signage, the Eagles Bar features the very best talent the Valley has to offer with regular Wednesday acoustics and weekend jamming. Here’s a look at what’s happening in the coming weeks.
Take in the acoustic stylings of area favorite Mathias on October 8th. With powerful vocals and a percussive guitar style, he’s known for his dynamic live performances full of acoustic folk, rock, and funk tunes.
Brian Kassay returns on Oct. 10th to perform as part of a special KGLT Fundraiser event. Doors open at 8pm with KGLT merchandise for sale, followed by live music from Kassay. All are welcome and donations to the alternative public radio station are appreciated.
Returning to the Eagles for another special show, Scott H. Biram performs on Oct. 11th. Sasquatch & the Sick-a-Billys and The Electric Outlaw open the 8pm show. Advance tickets are $20, or $25 at the door. Unleashing a fervent display of conviction through, not only the genuine blues, classic country, bluegrass, and rock n’ roll, Biram seals the deal with punk, heavy metal, and anything else he wants to. He’s “The Dirty Old One Man Band.” His live shows deliver a take no prisoners attitude, a stomping, pulsing John Lee Hooker-channeling, and cockeyed tales of black water baptisms and murder, all while romanticizing the on-the-road lifestyle.
Singer/songwriter Hannah Jo Lally shows off her talents on Oct. 15th. From the back roads of Eastern Washington, enjoy an evening of country cuts and distinctive originals. She draws influence from the likes of Suzy Bogguss and Charley Pride, Waylon Jennings and Mary Chapin Carpenter, among others.
New local band Willy on the Wire are set for performances on Oct. 17th and 18th. The Bozeman-based multi-piece are known for their vibey shows covering the best of rock, blues, soul and funk. Head down for a drink and check these guys out!
Poison Lovers guitarist and vocalist Robert Lethert performs on Oct. 22nd. Expect a blend of old school country and contemporary Americana. His strong gravely voice will perfectly complement your evening at the downtown tavern.
Butte’s Basketball Jones take the stage Oct. 24th and 25th. The power trio is comprised of Pete Heidt on guitar, bassist Scott Murphy and drummer Jock Holmes. Each band member contributes vocals for an eclectic evening of harmonies and crowd interaction.
A member of local “rockabilly” group Bluebelly Junction, Levi Main delivers a solo show to Eagles-goers on Oct. 29th. De-stress midweek with a drink and the stylings of this talented local musician.
Happy Halloween! The Love Darts perform on Oct. 31st and Nov. 1st. The hard rock punk band got its start playing venues like the Haufbrau, having since grown into a fine-tuned project featuring some of Bozeman’s most energetic guitarists. Take a listen to their self-professed “sloppy rock n’ roll” on their EP, Girly.
Laugh it up every Monday with the Eagles’ Comedy Open Mic Night. Whether you’re a spectator or have a few jokes of your own, sets begin at 8pm.
Exercise your pipes with the voted ‘Best’ Karaoke Night in town, sponsored by Bozeman’s Best Entertainment Group, setting up at FOE every Thursday. Sing your heart out and cheer on your friends! Sign-ups start at 9pm.
The Eagles hosts Burgers & BINGO Night on Saturday evenings, with dinner and the game beginning at 5:30pm. Grab your friends and dobber of choice for a chance to win some extra bucks.
Make sure to check out Bridger Mountain Big Band on Sunday nights. The ensemble performs at 7pm. The 17-piece jazz orchestra celebrates the music of Duke Ellington, Count Basie and more, with original arrangements and music of all genres from the 1900s to today. Acoustic Wednesdays start at 8pm and weekend bands are on at 9pm. Head downtown for some great live music or stop into the Eagles for a cold one when the next hankering hits. •
