Drive-in Mountainfilm event preceded by family matinee & community 10k
The Arts Council of Big Sky closes out its summer event series of with a weekend on the big screen with its annual Mountainfilm on Tour. The adventurous fun will take place Saturday and Sunday, September 11th and 12th.
Kick things off with the Town to Trails 10k at 10am on Saturday. Hosted by the Big Sky Community Organization, the $40 registration fee includes a long-sleeve race shirt for the first 75 registrants.
Following at 3pm, Mountainfilm Kid’s Kino begins the film portion of the weekend with a family friendly matinee. Bring the whole family to the community library to view a hand picked selection of documentary films that celebrate the outdoors, adventure, and the indomitable human spirit. The films are awesome for all ages and we will have snacks and a fun art project too! Crafts begin at 2:30pm. The Kid’s Kino is FREE, but please register in advance.
Finally, the 5th annual Mountainfilm on Tour Big Sky begins at 6pm on Sunday, Sept. 12th. This year’s film festival will be a drive-in at Big Sky Town Center, in the parking lot behind Tips Up. The evening kicks off with a tailgate party with live music by One Leaf and food vendors at 6pm. The films starts at 8pm, with a selection of short documentary films that celebrate the outdoors, adventure, and the indomitable human spirit! Price per car is $20 or $5 per person for hikers and bikers.
