It wouldn’t be a proper Bozeman St. Paddy’s without the annual return of Pub 317’s Run to the Pub! Following its in-person revival last year, thousands of 10K and half-marathon racers are expected to affix their finest St. Patrick’s Day attire before gathering at the starting line on Saturday, March 18th.
Participants will include those looking to run a personal best on the ‘23 course, creative costume enthusiasts, and everyone in between. Registering for the event earns participants a technical race shirt while supplies last, finisher’s medal and a well-deserved beer (for those 21+) at the finish line after party in Downtown Bozeman. Live entertainment will be provided by DJ Missy O’Malley.
It’s back! A tradition sorely missed last year, two lucky registrants will be awarded a trip to Ireland to compete in the Dublin Marathon. The drawing will be held during the after party, allowing a pair of Bozeman racers an opportunity to represent Montana on the international stage!
Run to the Pub grew from humble beginnings when one of the owners of Pub 317 motivated a few friends for a St. Patrick’s Day jog that ended with a beer at the bar. The event steadily grew from there, now hosting thousands of racers from all over the map.
The event is more than just a chance to get outside and have a good time – it’s also a way to aid the efforts of local nonprofits with a portion of the proceeds benefiting area organizations.
The half marathon will commence at 9:30am, with the 10K to follow at 9:45am. Loop course begins and ends on Main Street in Downtown Bozeman. Packet pickup is set for 10am–7pm on March 17th at Gallatin County Fairgrounds. Registration for the race and more information can be found at www.runtothepub.com. •
