The Bozeman Doc Series concludes its tenth season on Sunday, May 4th, at the Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture, with the new film from award-winning director Kathy Kasic, The Memory of Darkness, Light & Ice. The film screens at 7pm.
If the ice sheet covering Greenland melted, global sea levels would rise 21 feet, profoundly impacting our planet. How, why and when could this happen? A few years ago, scientists found lost sediment from a secret sub-ice Cold War base in the Arctic from the 1960s that holds clues to a time when the Greenland Ice Sheet was gone. The Memory of Darkness, Light & Ice chronicles the discovery of this sediment and the critical implications of the science to our future.
Distributed by Metamorph Films, the documentary has screened as part of several film fests including as the official selection of the 2025 Wild & Scenic Film Festival.
Kasic will be in attendance and will take part in a panel after the film with local experts. Come for the film, stay for the conversation!
Doors open at 6:30pm. Tickets are available at the door or before the show online at www.bozemandocseries.org, where you can learn more about the series and view trailers for upcoming films. The series will return for an all new season this fall. •
