Dead tribute finishes off virtual ‘Music in the Mountains’
On Thursday, September 3rd, the Arts Council of Big Sky will host Dead Sky for the final show in this summer’s Music in the Mountains free concert series. However, for this event there will be no audience, the stage will be indoors and food vendors will be nonexistent. But, as they say, the show must go on – only virtually this time!
The concert is broadcasted from the Warren Miller Performing Arts Center in Big Sky and available to stream for free through the Arts Council’s Facebook and YouTube pages. The music will start at 7pm.
Dead Sky is a Grateful Dead tribute band based out of Bozeman. It features members of Pinky & the Floyd, MOTH, Kelly Nicholson Band, The Hooligans, The Dead Yellers, SlomoJoe Trio and more: Luke Flansburg (guitar/vocals), Joe Knapp (guitar/vocals), Joe Kirchner (keyboards), Rich Robiscoe (bass), Brett Goodell (drums/percussion) and Kelly Nicholson (vocals).
Thanks to recent technology upgrades at WMPAC, the show will be streamed with high-quality audio and visual production from Jereco Studios – the same engineers that produce the sound and lights for the outdoor series. Several cameras have been installed in the theater, allowing for multiple angles.
The 2020 Virtual Music in the Mountains concert series is made possible by Big Sky Resort Tax, First Security Bank, Big Sky Landscaping, American Bank, the Spanish Peaks Community Foundation and Hammond Property Management.
