Host to stage and screen entertainment of all varieties, Downtown Bozeman’s Ellen Theatre is also a great place to catch a show by touring musical acts. Here’s a look who’s set to visit in the coming weeks.
The Ellen welcomes the 23rd edition of International Guitar Night on Wednesday, February 8th at 7:30pm. All seats are $29.50.
This year’s brand new lineup features Finnish Jazz Guitarist Olli Soikelli, Soloist and Chamber Musician Stephanie Jones from Germany, Flamenco Master Jesus Guerrero, Spain, and traditional Jazz Guitarist and Vocalist Jocelyn Gould, visiting from Canada.
“International Guitar Night is an annual event that never disappoints,” says Ellen Executive Director John Ludin. “In fact, each year seems to be better than the previous and patrons always ask, ‘When are they coming back?’ Four amazingly gifted guitarists on one stage make it more than a concert – this is a buffet of beautiful music. If you’ve never seen them live, IGN is a gathering of incredibly talented and eclectic individuals who captivate on their own and then blow away the audience when they perform together.”
A special night of music follows on Friday, February 17th when country stars Kathy Mattea and Suzy Bogguss finally join forces on stage. Seats range from $21.50–$31.50.
Each musician has carved out careers in popular music with Grammy wins and country chart hits spanning two decades. Bogguss’ “Outbound Plane,” “Aces” and “Someday Soon” are among the many songs beloved by country music fans around the world, as are “455 Rocket,” “Eighteen Wheels and a Dozen Roses,” and “Where’ve You Been?” from Kathy’s deep well of material. Friends since their early days in Nashville, they had only found a few opportunities to collaborate musically, notably with Grammy-nominated “Teach Your Children”, their track from 1994’s Red Hot + Country compilation.
They have “threatened” for years, and their many fans have clamored for this pairing. Now, sporting new material developed for the tour, armed with two careers’ worth of stories and more hits than they can fit… Kathy and Suzy are “Together at Last!”
Coming soon to the Ellen: a hilarious night of comedy with Gary Gulman: Born on Third Base on March 24 with plenty more live entertainment yet to be announced. See venue website for additional details.
