Cool down indoors with variety of Ellen silver screenings
Downtown Bozeman’s Ellen Theatre will present a number of upcoming film screenings of the classic and family favorite variety this month. Gather friends and loved ones for some popcorn and the following endearing titles.
Beatles-inspired fantasy musical Yesterday screens Saturday, July 9th at 7:30pm. The film follows struggling musician Jack Malik, as he suddenly finds himself the only person who has ever heard of the Beatles. When he reintroduces their music to the world, he becomes an overnight sensation. From the director of Slumdog Millionaire and writer of Love, Actually, the film stars Himesh Patel, Lily James, Ed Sheeran and Kate McKinnon. All seats are $8.
Family classic Finding Nemo returns to the big screen Sunday, July 10th at 3pm. When young clownfish Nemo is unexpectedly captured from the Great Barrier Reef, it’s up to Marlin, his worrisome father, and Dory, a friendly but forgetful regal blue tang fish, to make the epic journey to bring him home. Widely considered a timeless classic, the film features a voice cast of Ellen Degeneres and Albert Brooks. All seats are $8.
High Noon, one of the most significant Westerns of all time, screens Saturday, July 16th at 7:30pm. Winner of four Academy Awards including Best Score and Best Song “Do Not Foresake Me, Oh My Darlin’,” the Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly-starring film follows a man who must face a gang of killers all by himself after no one agrees to help. Innovative for its era, the suspenseful story unfolds in real time – as verified by onscreen clocks! All seats are $8.
Another marquee family title, Happy Feet, is back on the big screen Sunday, July 17th at 3pm. Set deep in Antarctica, the story follows an emperor penguin named Mumble who has a gift for dancing but is shunned by fellow penguins for his rebellious ways. The film features songs made famous by the Beatles, Queen, the Beach Boys, Earth, Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder and more. Voice cast includes Elijah Wood, Robin Williams, Brittany Murphy and Nicole Kidman. All seats only $5.
