Montana State University is pleased to announce that MSU’s HEART Initiative, Women’s Center, VOICE Center, and Police Department, along with the Bozeman Police Department, Haven and the Help Center’s Sexual Assault Counseling Center, will present “A Conversation on Human Trafficking in Bozeman” this month. The public is invited to attend this free panel discussion surrounding several arrests made in Bozeman in July 2023.
The panel will discuss human trafficking in our community on Wednesday, November 29th at 6pm in MSU’s Procrastinator Theater in the Strand Union Building.
Detectives Michael Mertz and Shay Stephens from the Montana State University and Bozeman Police Departments will join Shalynn, an Anti-trafficking Legal Advocate with Haven, and Perrin Lundgren, Community Educator, Sexual Assault Counseling Center–Bozeman Help Center to define human trafficking and share information on the scope of the crimes in our local region, as well as identify services and resources for survivors.
Panelists will discuss how trafficking can appear in a local context and what all of us can look for and do. This panel discussion will raise awareness around human trafficking in our community and help attendees learn about efforts to support survivors to end further trafficking.
