The springtime greens are finally peeking through the thawing tundra of Southwest Montana, with spirits high for another marvelous sunny season under the Big Sky. Plan a weekend trip to Chico Hot Springs for a chance to soak the joints, feast on some delicious grub and enjoy live music in the Saloon. Hereโs whatโs coming up this month.
First up this month, get ready for El Wencho de Mayoย on May 5th and 6th. For most people, the image of an โacoustic duoโ conjures images of two soft spoken musicians singing folk rock and hippie jam songs. This is not the case with the Wench. Two original members of the Clintons, John and Josh joke, โweโre half the band, twice the party!โ The guys are no strangers to throwing a rocking good time. Their show is a hotdish or โbadasseroleโ of musical genres and style.

Deer Creek Design
Helenaโs Three Eyed Jackย follows on May 12th and 13th. The classic and country rock trio features the talents of Mike Killeen (guitar), John Parr (bass) and Tim Borsberry (drums). Book your rooms and head over to Chico for a good ole lively time!
Veterans of the local live music scene, The Dirty Shameย are back at it on May 19th and 20th. The outlaw country band has been a staple of the Montana live music scene for decades, known for their cutting originals and unique spins on songs by the likes of Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash, among others. They released โBest Ofโ compilation A Few More for the Roadย last year.
Celebrate Memorial Day weekend with Shortchangeย on May 26th and 27th. The band delivers a zestful blend of blues rock, soul and reggae with every show. Let yer hair down and cut up the floor and with this lively bunch of Montana musicians.
And on Sunday, May 28th, Pickin’ Pear performs their brand of folk n’ roll at 8pm. The duo combines non-traditional stylings with their traditional instruments and create an original mix of modern American music. A blend of top-notch songwriting and improvisational jamming makes each one of their songs sound unique.
Live Saloon music begins at 9pm. Chico Hot Springs is located in Pray, 20 miles south of Livingston. For more information and to make a reservation, visit www.chicohotsprings.com. โข
