Celebrate our planet with Gallatin Valley Earth Day!
Local nonprofit Gallatin Valley Earth Day has announced an extended slate of events to celebrate Earth Day 2022. Take part throughout the month of April with virtual and in-person activities that focus on the health of our planet.

Sign up for free online talks to learn about how to drastically cut your water usage using gray water systems in the talk “GallatinValley 2022: Grape or Raisin? – The Coming Water Shortage & How to Respond” by Randy Hafer (April 6th at 7pm) or watch a free, online screening of the short film, Drop – Water Connects Us All” with a panel discussion following (April 13th at 7pm). Panelists will include:
– Hilary Hutcheson: renowned fly fishing guide & star of the film,
– Hilary Lindh: World Champion & Olympic medalist alpine skier
– David Brooks: Executive Director of Montana Trout Unlimited
Gallatin Valley Earth Day in-person events include:
– “Water for Earth” on Friday, April 22: Celebrate Earth Day with music and guest speakers. Social hour begins at 6pm with food & drink. Help the Bozeman HS Solar Schools Club by bidding at their silent auction. The main program begins at 7pm in the Emerson Crawford Theater.
– Earth Day Fun Run on Saturday, April 23: Go with the Flow – a Run for Water! Begins at 9am at Gallatin County Regional Park. The fundraiser will help Montana Outdoor Science School buy water monitoring equipment for its students. MOSS provides science programs for our schools in the Gallatin Valley, including the Water Wise Kids program. Join the fun and support our schools and kids! – Earth Day Festival on Saturday, April 23rd from 10am–3pm at the Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture. Enjoy exhibits, talks every hour, short films, live music, food and children’s activities. A puppet show is set for 10am and 10:30am, plus win prizes as part of the Children’s Earth Day Passport program.

Gallatin Valley Earth Day encourages local citizen action to help protect our planet from right here in the Gallatin Valley. The group came together in creation of a Bozeman festival that celebrates this vital work. Learn more by visiting the aforementioned website. •
