Minneapolis-based Americana/folk band The Last Revel will deliver an intimate in-store performance and album signing at Cactus Records & Gifts on Monday, July 14th. The event celebrates the release of their new album, Gone for Good, and begins at 5:30pm.
Cactus Records & Gifts is located at 2742 W. Main St, located across from the Mall, next to Rook’s Games, behind Café Zydeco. Admission is free and open to all ages. The 25-minute performance precedes the album signing at 6pm.
The Last Revel, whose name signifies a sense of celebration, consist of guitar, upright bass, fiddle, banjo and vocals. They are known for their multi-instrumentalist abilities and captivating live performances, blending folk, old-time string-band, vocal harmonies, and indie rock.
Members of The Last Revel met while attending Minnesota State University. One of the band’s members, Ryan Acker, currently lives in Bozeman and is married to Lena Marie Schiffer, lead vocalist for popular Bozeman band Laney Lou & the Bird Dogs.
Their new album, Gone for Good, is described as an “indie-folk ode to hustle and persistence.” It was produced by Dave Simonett of Trampled by Turtles. Gone for Good releases on Friday, July 18th, though a limited number of advance copies will be available for attendees of the Cactus Records in-store event.
The album should provide The Last Revel with a larger audience than they’ve seen previously, with marketing and distribution for the new album being handled by independent music power-house Thirty Tigers, who have had past releases by Bela Fleck, Charley Crockett, Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit, Leann Rimes, Lucinda Williams, Lukas Nelson, Paul Cauthen, Red Clay Strays, Ryan Bingham, Son Volt, Sturgill Simpson, Avett Brothers, Todd Snyder, Trampled by Turtles and Turnpike Troubadours, among dozens of others.
