The summer concert series is in full swing at Bridger Brewing’s Three Forks amphitheater, with recent shows by the likes of Corb Lund and Muscadine Bloodline drawing fantastic crowds. The music continues in the coming weeks with two additional performances.
Next up is alt-country artist Paul Cauthen on Sunday, July 9th. The music begins at 7pm. Steward of a rich, resonant, bass-leaning tenor dubbed Big Velvet, the unapologetic artist covers a lot of ground and embodies as many characters. His latest album, Country Coming Down, features a sense of campfire calm and “damn near off the map” idyll that set a bar, for both music and lifestyle, that Cauthen aspired to. The album also shows that Cauthen was able to get there without losing any of the playful “hot dog holly golly dagnabit” good-time spirit that rolls off his tongue like a tumbleweed in the west Texas panhandle.
Following on Thursday, August 3rd, veteran touring group Reckless Kelly performs. The show starts at 8pm. For decades, the band has graced the musical landscape with a high-powered form of Americana, equally rooted in raw passion, refined musicianship, and gritty authenticity. With the recent dual release of two albums – American Jackpot and American Girls – the Idaho-bred band presents a beautifully detailed portrait of their beloved country, turning their nuanced songwriting to its many glories and tragedies. While one batch of songs centers on slice-of-life storytelling and the other explores the complexities of human connection, the collective body of work unfolds with profound and often eye-opening attention to the subtleties of American life.
Advance general admission tickets for Paul Cauthen and Reckless Kelly are $45 and $40, respectively. Visit www.bridgerbrewing.com to purchase tickets and to learn more about the summer lineup that will see an additional shows by Mike & the Moonpies and Pinky & the Floyd. Cheers! •
