As the fall season approaches, local audiences have several opportunities to experience the national tours of some of the music industry’s brightest stars at Brick Breeden Fieldhouse.
First up, Jelly Roll brings his “Backroad Baptism” tour to Bozeman on Wednesday, September 6th. Opening support comes courtesy of Struggle Jennings and Caitlynne Curtis with the music set to begin at 7pm.
The chart-topping, multi-genre phenomenon scored his first No. 1 on country radio with his debut country single “Son of a Sinner” and earned a two-week Rock No. 1, cementing “his rising mainstream stardom” (Tennessean). More recently, he released “She” as well as his current radio hit, “Need a Favor” – both from his new album, Whitsitt Chapel. Having independently amassed more than 4 billion career streams, Jelly made his Grand Ole Opry debut in 2022 and continues to sell out venues across the United States. His hit single “Save Me” – a confessional, vulnerable expression of self-doubt set the stage for his new season of life and took him to new heights – continues to resonate with fans and tap into Jelly’s uniquely-connective ability to bring fans “therapeutic music.”
Returning to Southwest Montana on Saturday, September 9th, is Bonnie Raitt with her “Just Like That…” tour. Roy Rogers will open the 7pm show.
Touring her twenty-first album and first new release in more than six years, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer continues to draw on the range of influences that have shaped her legendary career, while creating something that speaks to the circumstances and challenges of these unprecedented times. The mix of sounds and approaches on Just Like That… reveals how, fifty years after the release of her debut album, Raitt continues to personify what it means to stay creative, adventurous and daring over the course of a life’s work. The album won three Grammy Awards, including “Song of the Year” for the title track.
Rodney Atkins is set for a Friday, September 15th, show as part of Alpha Gamma Rho’s annual Testicle Festival. Jarrod Morris will be on hand to warm up the crowd for the 7pm show.
One of country music’s biggest stars, the chart-topping artist’s current solo studio album, Caught Up in the Country, reveals an artist who is confident enough to know that making your best music can require patience and experimentation. The results are his most daring collection so far, touching on emotions and sounds which continue to expand his range – from the twangy celebration of the album’s title track (featuring the roof-raising vocals of The Fisk Jubilee Singers) to the slow-burn cover of Jason Isbell’s “Cover Me Up.” With six No. 1 singles, eight Top 5s, and billions of career streams under his belt, Atkins continues to be recognized as one of the most powerful voices in country music.
And appearing in Bozeman one last time on Monday, September 25th, is Foreigner as part of their “Farewell Tour.” Music begins at 7:30pm.
With ten multi-platinum albums and 16 Top 30 hits, the band is universally hailed as one of the most popular rock acts in the world with a formidable musical arsenal that continues to propel sold-out tours and album sales, now exceeding 80 million. Responsible for some of rock and roll’s most enduring anthems including “Juke Box Hero,” “Cold as Ice,” “Hot Blooded,” “Waiting for a Girl Like You,” “Feels Like the First Time,” “Urgent,” “Head Games,” “Say You Will,” “Dirty White Boy,” “Long, Long Way from Home” and the worldwide #1 hit, “I Want to Know What Love Is,” Foreigner still rocks the charts more than 40 years into the game.
