First 11th & Grant of 2018 to feature Bozeman’s Golden Grenade
11th & Grant with Eric Funk will premiere a brand new episode in the new year, Thursday, January 18th on MontanaPBS beginning at 7pm. Featured Bozeman-based group Golden Grenade blends together flawlessly with a hard-driving sound rooted in rock and blues, with a high energy vibe. Band members Dustin Tucker, Noah Heckmann and Levi Kujala showcase their soulful vocal harmonies and intense groove-laden instrumentals in this all-original episode.
The band formed just days after the passing of Dustin’s father and Bozeman music icon, Tex Tucker, from whom he inherited the gift of musicianship and songwriting. The two share an eerily similar songwriting style that’s strongly bonded to the earth and the universe, and shows equal intrigue in how people and relationships affect our time on this planet.
The songs from the band’s eponymous debut EP were all written on Tex’s legendary red Gibson acoustic guitar and arranged by the trio in a dark underground military bunker. The group recorded their debut EP in Nashville, TN, and have since released follow-up Head Games to critical acclaim.
11th & Grant with Eric Funk is the premier outlet for music performance in Montana, seeking out the state’s most acclaimed, accomplished, and pioneering talent. The Emmy-winning performance series also devotes significant time to each artist’s personal story, insights into their music and their approach to life, ultimately providing a deeper experience than a seat at a concert. Accomplished composer and musician Eric Funk serves as host and artistic director, hand selecting each performer from communities around the state to form a diverse series featuring genres from jazz to classical, country to zydeco, and rock to fusion.
