It’s spring in Southwest Montana, but as longtime residents know, the change in season is commonly marked by dreary days and a whole lotta brown. As we sit and await summer’s triumphant return, Bozemanites can at least think green with the recognition of Earth Day 2018 on Sunday, April 22nd.
The world’s largest recruiter to the environmental movement, Earth Day Network, has focused its annual efforts on urging the significant reduction in plastic pollution around the globe.
“From poisoning and injuring marine life to disrupting human hormones, from littering our beaches and landscapes to clogging our waste streams and landfills, the exponential growth of plastics is now threatening the survival of our planet,” the organization said in a statement.
Gallatin Valley residents can do their part to support global efforts from right here in Southwest Montana with easy access to recycling at one of the area’s FREE drop-off sites!
