Big Sky hosts Special Olympics Montana following USASA competition
Several generous dumpings of fresh white powder aren’t the only reason people are flocking to Big Sky Resort this ski season. USA Snowboard & Freeski Association returns to Lone Mountain for the USASA Slopestyle & Rail Jam 2020 on February 22nd and 23rd. Events will be held in the Swifty Terrain Park and Swifty 2.0 Terrain Park. Slopestlye takes place Saturday with the Rail Jam to follow on Sunday. Registration accessible through the Big Sky and USASA websites.
Special Olympics Montana sets up on Monday, February 24th for the Big Sky Area Winter Games. Come out and cheer on athletes of all ages and skill levels compete for the gold! Events will be held from 8am–3:30pm, with the Madison
Base Lodge serving as the game headquarters. All athletes registered through the Special Olympics directly. Spectators encouraged to show community support!
Looking ahead, show some love for our community’s four-legged friends at the annual Snowshoe Shuffle, set for Saturday, March 7th beginning at 5:30pm. Experience a snowshoe hike, après chili dinner and a raffle! The torch-lit snowshoe trail will start at the Madison Base Area and wind its way up and around the ski terrain, then lead back down to a hot bowl of chili with friends – furry and otherwise! Please clean up after your pets. This event benefits Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter. Ticketing information available through the HOV website.
Also available, the discounted April Pass! This option grants passholders 19 days on the mountain. With incredible spring conditions and anticipated events like Big Sky Big Grass and the season-ending Pond Skim, April is one of the best times of year to ski Lone Mountain. Valid April 1st through 19th, this pass is $199 for adults (15-69), $99 for juniors (7-14) and $159 for seniors (70+). Early bird sale ends Feb. 26th. Montana Passholders may also upgrade theirs to include all of April for only $99.
