Montana artisan showcase -Big Sky Artisan Festival returns to Big Sky for year two

Back for another round, the 2nd Annual Big Sky Artisan Festival will unfold at the Meadow Village Shopping Center on Friday and Saturday, August 10th–11th from 10am–4pm each day. The event will feature more than 30 juried artisans showcasing handmade, one-of-a-kind products in a variety of mediums. There will also be delicious food, great music, bounce house, and a dunk tank on Saturday.
This event was initiated last year in an effort to bring tourists to Big Sky while showcasing the vibrant creative arts community in Big Sky and all of Montana. Support the efforts to share Big Sky and local artisan products with the world by stopping by this fantastic two-day event! Further details can be found at www.bigskyartisanfestival.com.
Throughout the festival, local artists will be participating in a “Plein Air Paint Out,” and those paintings will be auctioned on Sunday, Aug. 12th during the the Arts Council of Big Sky’s annual Classical Music Festival, which brings world-class performers to Big Sky every summer. This year’s artists include renowned violinists Bella Hristova and Angella Ahn, acclaimed crossover trio Time for Three, and the Big Sky Festival Orchestra with Maestro Peter Bay of the Austin Symphony. Events include one ticketed concert and two outdoor, free concerts. All money raised during the Plein Air Paint Out will be donated to the Arts Council of Big Sky.
Founded in 1989, the Arts Council of Big Sky provides residents, visitors, and artists with premier events, education and creative opportunities in the Arts. Their vision is for Big Sky to remain a beautiful place where the expression, enjoyment and education of the Arts will inspire and sustain a healthy and vibrant community.
