Beth Kennedy, a local artist (and former resident of the Archie Bray Foundation) will hold a eigth-week Ceramic Workshop class for adults and teens Monday, January 25th- March 21st from 7 – 9:30 pm or Thursday mornings, January 28th- March 24th from 9:30am to 12:00pm at her studio (411 North 18th in Bozeman). The class is for both beginning and advanced students wanting to further learn clay / ceramic electric wheel basics. Students will be shown some basic hand building techniques to enhance thrown utilitarian forms. All work can be slip decorated and glazed. Students are encouraged to keep a notebook and to attend the practice times available during the workshop session. The cost for this class is $190 and includes the first 25 pounds of clay and firing fees.
Kennedy has a Masters degree in Ceramics and been
teaching this and other pottery classes in Bozeman since 1993. Her work has been shown through out the United States and can be viewed in “500 Animals” and “500 Hand-Made Books,” published by Lark books. For more information or to register please call 570- 6404.
