Coming in hot, local tunesmith Neil Beddow brings along his band West Dakota Stutter for a special show in celebration of new LP, Then Until Now. The evening of original music will be held at Gallatin Labor Temple on Sunday, November 8th. Opening support comes courtesy of Spokane’s Mike Davis with music beginning at 6pm.
Bozeman’s West Dakota Stutter brings a distinctive blend of folk rock, soulful storytelling and honky-tonk spirit to Montana’s music scene. Led by frontman Neil Filo Beddow, who handles guitar and vocals, the band delivers hearty original music with an occasional cover mixed in for good measure. Beddow’s songwriting ranges from personal reflections and everyday struggles to sharp social commentary, all delivered with an independent streak and a healthy dose of irreverence. The group describes its sound as “folk rock for the soul when you get the blues in a honky tonk,” and its offbeat personality is every bit as memorable as its music.

With a rotating cast of talented Montana musicians, West Dakota Stutter adapts to different settings and configurations while keeping Beddow’s songwriting at the heart of its sound. The band balances laid-back roots-rock grooves with thoughtful lyrics and a community-minded approach, sometimes tackling difficult subjects through songs that encourage conversation and reflection. Whether performing as a stripped-down acoustic duo or with a fuller lineup, Beddow and company bring an unpretentious, distinctly Montana character to their performances.
There is a suggested $10 cover for this show. Find tickets and additional information at www.westdakotastutter.com. •
