Downtown Livingston’s favorite live music spot brings in acts to suit every palate – and plenty of cocktails to go with ‘em! Here’s a look at some of the upcoming artists heading up to The Attic.
First up this month is a duo show featuring Quenby & the West of Wayland and the Blake Brightman Band on Friday, December 1st. The music begins at 8pm.
Writing and performing since the early aughts, Quenby Iandiorio is a classic country and roots musician from Paradise Valley. Attendees are in for a night of groovy Americana courtesy of one of the area’s most lauded veteran musicians and her band of talented players.
Five-piece Blake Brightman Band follows the frontwoman’s lead with an energetic set of hits and originals. The singer/songwriter’s stylings fall somewhere between country western and Mississippi blues, with her own modern spin.
Road warrior Jerry Joseph follows on Thursday, December 14th, with a solo acoustic performance. Local tunesmith Matt Wallin will open the 8pm show.
Joseph is prolific and accomplished songwriter who’s written hits for Widespread Panic and has released dozens of albums in his decade-spanning career as a solo artist and member of numerous groups. He comes to Livingston in support of his new album, Baby You’re the Man Who Would Be King.
Local nonprofit Suffer Out Loud presents a special night of live music as part of its “End the Silence” campaign on Saturday, December 16th. Music begins at 8pm.
The evening will feature performances by local groups Bedlam Mimicks, Bubba Fett, Death Trophy, Terald Wood, Gallatin Ghost Train, Palanter and Scavenger. Event proceeds will directly benefit host organization Suffer Out Loud, whose work endeavors to reduce suicide rates in Montana. Two additional venues, The Owl and The Mint, will host benefit shows featuring alternate performers.
Celebrate the “Eve-Eve-Eveapalooza” with The MAX on Friday, December 29th. Music starts at 8pm.
The MAX is a three-piece band from the Livingston area that has entertained and delighted audiences across the country for decades. Featuring Kyle Brenner on guitar and vocals, Bobb Clanton on bass guitar and vocals, and Ethan Decker on drums, this “power pop party rock” trio from the Rockies puts out a massive sound for just three guys and has an incredible knack for pulling off spot-on covers of tunes young and old. The MAX has two independent album releases, Shadows in the Shade and Vinyl Valentine.
Closing out the month on Sunday, December 31st is the “New Year’s Eve Mashup” with DJ Saltlick and support from the Sleepless Elite. The party starts at 8pm.
Ryan Green, the man also known as DJ Saltlick, provides a sound that moves and grooves his audiences with sets featuring house, synth-pop and electronic body music.
The Sleepless Elite has inspiration rooted in musical theater, and the sound of artists like Paramore and Blondie, Blink-182 and the Strokes. Their unique sound can be heard on their latest release, Still Dreaming.
