Downtown Livingston’s favorite live music spot brings in acts to suit every palate – and plenty of cocktails to go with ‘em! Here’s a look at some of the upcoming artists heading up to The Attic.
On May 17th, Petty tribute The Waiting perform. The Bozeman-based roadhouse rock n’ roll band celebrates the music of Tom Petty. Expect a blend of his smash hits with the Heartbreakers, a sampling from his solo albums, and even some of his collaborations with the Traveling Wilburys, delivered with fiery live energy.
Paradise Valley favorites The Fossils front an incredible show on May 23rd. Known around town for their authentic hippie music, the band guarantees a rockin’ good time. The members have been acquainted for years and are connected by their love of music.
Take in a performance by duo act Sgt. Splendor on May 24th with opening support by Danny Bee. Comprised of Kate Vargas and Eric McFadden, the group will perform selections from their debut full-length Death of the Hoochie Koo. “Tom Waits’ music has always been a point of connection for me and Kate,” says McFadden. “While our musical approaches differ, they’re also kindred and share a lot of common elements. Our Southwestern upbringing comes through – that sort of mysteriouso desert thing – but also a carnivalesque Waits-ian vibe. The new record is a bit more cohesive but still eclectic. Kind of an alt-funk, desert roots, dirty blues, rock thing. Our styles have always been complementary.”
Late this month, new band Funky Moto shows off their talents on May 31st. Purveyors of eclectic funk, the group performs with a short musical idea repeated throughout a piece of music – a key part of the composition. Check out this new act on the local scene!
