Delivering one more month of Thursday evening shows at Center Stage in Len Hill Park, the Arts Council of Big Sky continues to host another incredible run of Music in the Mountains. This year marks the 17th anniversary of the series which, as always, is free and open to the public.
The popular series will again present a variety of genres to appeal to all tastes. The remaining schedule includes the progressive bluegrass of Magoo on August 6th, a rockin’ set of psychedelic Americana from The Mother Hips on August 13th, neo-soul funksters Object Heavy on August 20th, and rootsy funkgrassers Armchair Boogie on August 27th.
Once again the season will conclude with the third annual “Metal in the Mountains” festival on September 3rd, featuring tribute band The Iron Maidens and local rockers Scavenger.
The Arts Council is again partnering with local partners to present the Emerging Artist Series, which features local and regional opening artists for each concert. This year’s performers include Blue Point on August 6th, Lee Rafugee on August 13th, Jazz Cabbage on August 20th, Logan Liebert & the Light Blue on August 27th, and Scavenger on September 3rd.
The family friendly events take place at Center Stage in Len Hill Park, one of the best outdoor venues in the state, right in the heart of Big Sky. The park opens at 6pm each week, and there will be food and beverage vendors and a free arts activity tent for kids. Music typically starts at 6:30pm with the headliner following at 8pm. Please remember that no dogs or glass containers are allowed in the park, and although attendees are allowed to bring their own food and alcohol into the park, please remember to be kind and respectful to others around you.
