The Arts Council of Big Sky caps another great season with its off-shoot to this summer’s ‘Music in the Mountains’ lineup. On Thursday, September 4th, settle in for the return of Metal in the Mountains, an end-of-summer festival featuring two regional heavy metal bands. The event includes AC/DC tribute Hell’s Belles as the headliner, with support from Big Sky’s own Scavenger. Music starts at 6:30pm in Len Hill Park.
Known for their high-octane performances and a powerful tribute to one of the greatest rock bands of all time, Hell’s Belles will blow you away with their spot-on renditions of AC/DC’s greatest hits.
Hell’s Belles are the ultimate tribute, offering fans a chance to experience the wild energy and timeless rock anthems of AC/DC through an all-female lineup. Endorsed by Angus Young himself, the band is the closest thing to seeing AC/DC live without actually joining the legendary Australian band. Their mission is simple – deliver an authentic AC/DC experience while actively encouraging the next generation of female rockers to stand up and take their place in the rock world.
From their early days in the United States to performing internationally in places like Japan, Singapore, and Canada, Hell’s Belles have built a legendary reputation for their sold-out shows, raw energy, and faithful renditions of AC/DC classics. Their setlist includes unforgettable hits like “Highway to Hell,” “Thunderstruck” and “Back in Black,” with the passion and energy of the original performances shining through. With Hell’s Belles, it’s not just a show – it’s a rock n’ roll experience that no one will forget.
Riff-heavy metal band Scavenger has played more than 150 shows since then at venues around Montana and beyond, showcasing their original material. Their first album, Cliff Manor, was released in 2018, and the quartet released their second album Feral last year. The band members – which include Timmy Bowers (drums/vocals), Ben Blodgett (bass/vocals), Joey Mathis (guitar), and Brent Philippi (guitar/vocals) – have been part of the Big Sky community for decades.
Len Hill Park opens at 6pm. These tobacco and vape-free events are family friendly with food and beverage trucks on site. Dogs and glass containers are prohibited. For more information and to check out what other events the Arts Council has going on, please visit www.bigskyarts.org. •
