Unveiling the next in its 2025 performance series, Montana Chamber Music Society will present its first commissioned piece featuring the talents of Kenji Bunch with support by Monica Ohuchi and special guest Angella Ahn on Friday, October 10th. The concert will be held at Reynolds Recital Hall on the Montana State University campus. Music begins at 7:30pm.
A groundbreaking violist, Kenji was the first student to receive dual degrees in viola and composition from The Juilliard School. His genre-defying music has been performed on six continents and by over seventy American orchestras.
Kenji is joined by his wife Monica Ohuchi on piano and long time friend and collaborator Angella Ahn. Included in the program is Montana Chamber Music’s first commission – a duo for violin & viola by the extraordinary composer, performed by Angella and Kenji.
The trio’s regional tour will include “An Intimate Evening of Music & Conversations” at Belgrade’s Willow Spring Ranch on Oct. 9th at 6:30pm and a free rural concert at River Ranch in Cardwell on Oct. 11th at 1pm. Find ticketing information for these performances through the host website.
Admission to all regular Montana Chamber Music Society performances is $35 for adults, $25 for seniors, and $10 for students. Tickets may be purchased at www.montanachambermusicsociety.org. These are also available at the door, depending on availability. Net proceeds from these programs support MCMS’s mission to present great chamber music performances throughout Montana year-round. •
