Downtown Bozeman’s Ellen Theatre is your source for some of the area’s best big screen entertainment and stage performances. The space also houses some great musical acts, both local and those coming through town. Here’s a look at what’s happening downtown.
Shades of Bublé is next up on Friday, October 26th. With every performance, the world-class tribute delivers a setlist comprised only of songs recorded or performed live by Michael Bublé including “Feeling Good,” “Moondance,” “Come Fly With Me,” “Home,” “Everything,” “Fever,” “Save the Last Dance for Me,” and many more. The trio honors (but doesn’t imitate) the sophistication, retro style, and high-energy fun that Bublé himself brings to his concerts while engaging diehard fans with thrilling new three-part vocal arrangements. Shades of Bublé: A Three-Man Tribute to Michael Bublé gives audiences seamless variety by combining big-band standards from the jazz era, classic hits from the 50s/60s/70s, as well as Billboard chart-toppers from today in a high-energy show that generates standing ovations from sold-out crowds. Tickets to this show are $27 with the hits beginning at 7:30pm.
Rhythm Future Quartet “breaks new ground for gypsy jazz,” according to The Boston Globe! Four virtuosos take the stage on Saturday, October 27th for an unforgettable music spectacular. The acoustic jazz ensemble has a straightforward agenda: to keep the spirit of Gypsy jazz alive and expanding in today’s musical universe. The virtuosic foursome, named for a Django Reinhardt tune, offers up a newly minted sound, influenced by the classic Hot Club of France, yet wholly contemporary. Led by violinist Jason Anick and guitarist Olli Soikkeli, the quartet performs dynamic and lyrical arrangements of both Gypsy jazz standards and original compositions that draw upon diverse international rhythms and musical idioms. With Max O’Rourke on second guitar and Greg Loughman on bass, Rhythm Future is dedicated to expanding the boundaries of a vital musical genre. Following 2016’s Travels, their new album, Rhythm Future Quartet and Friends, releases October 28th.
Guitar legend Tommy Emmanuel wrote, “These young men are incredible!! Don’t miss them… such dedication and love of music to witness!” All seats are $21.75 and the concert begins at 7:30pm.
Wine, beer, and other refreshments will be sold in the lobby one hour before both concerts.
