SUMMARY:Tinworks Free Movie Night: Last Things
DESCRIPTION:Free Movie Night\nLast Things\n\n\nThursday\, October 16\, 2025\n\n7–9:30pm\nRialto\nFree to all.\n\nGET Tickets\n\n\n\n\n\nOverview\n\n\nJoin Tinworks for free\, monthly screenings of films surrounding topics and themes associated with A Kin to Clay exhibition. \nThis special cinema event is in collaboration with Montana State University’s Film program\, and will showcase a selection of boundary pushing MFA\, undergraduate\, and faculty films in conversation with Tinworks’ A Kin To Clay exhibition themes and topics. Following these films will be a short intermission before the featured attraction Last Things. \nPopcorn available for donations and open to the public. Registration not required. \n\n\n\n\nFilm Synopsis—Last Things\n\n\nAn experimental film that looks at evolution and extinction from the perspective of the rocks and minerals that came before humanity and will outlast us. A humid take on minerals\, where sci-fi meets sci-fact. The geo-biosphere is a place of evolutionary possibility\, where humans disappear but life endures. With scientists and thinkers like Lynn Margulis and Marcia Bjørnerud as guides and quoting from the proto-Sci-fi texts of J.H. Rosny\, Deborah Stratman offers a stunning array of images\, from microscopic forms to vast landscapes\, and seeks a picture of evolution without humans at the center. \nDirected and written by Deborah Stratman \n2023\, 50min\, 16 mm digital transfer. This film is not rated
