SUMMARY:Terry Tempest Williams
DESCRIPTION:Terry Tempest Williams\n\n\n\nAcclaimed nature writer Terry Tempest Williams returns to discuss her new book\, The Glorians: Visitations from the Holy Ordinary.\n\n\nElk River Arts & Lectures (ERAL) presents an afternoon with acclaimed nature writer and essayist Terry Tempest Williams on Saturday\, April 4\, at 1 pm at the Empire Twin Theater\, 106 N 2nd St\, Livingston. Doors open at 12:30 pm. \nWilliams has been called “a citizen writer” who speaks out eloquently on behalf of an ethical stance toward life. A naturalist and fierce advocate for freedom of speech\, she has consistently shown how environmental issues are social issues that ultimately become matters of justice. She has testified before Congress on women’s health issues\, been a guest at the White House\, camped in the remote regions of Utah and Alaska wildernesses\, and worked as “a barefoot artist” in Rwanda. She’s written more than 20 books\, including most recently The Glorians: Visitations from the Holy Ordinary. \nPlease note: Terry will not be signing books during the event\, so pre-ordering here is the best way to receive a signed copy. Books will be available to pick up during the event\, or in our store\, or will be shipped\, beginning April 6. Books will also be available to purchase during the event. No tickets or reservations are needed – please arrive early to secure a seat. \nThis event is part of ERAL’s longstanding Lecture Series; writers from all over the country visit Park County to share their work with our community. The series is generously supported by Elk River Books\, the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation\, and community donations. ERAL is a nonprofit dedicated to cultivating and celebrating the literary arts in Park County. For more information\, call (406) 529-1682 or visit elkriverarts.org
