This lively talk blends travel stories with fascinating facts about the Jurassic Coast\, ancient ammonites\, and the town’s charming historic architecture. Hear about Ashley’s visit to the Etches Collection Museum\, home to Sea Rex\, the largest pliosaur ever found. Discover how this small town changed the way we understand Jurassic sealife.\nWhat can fossils teach us about the world today? Discoveries made by paleontologists continue to shed new light on the deep past of the planet and the creatures that arose here. This speaker series explores recent paleontological findings and current hypotheses as conveyed by scientists who are actively exploring how life on Earth has changed. After the lecture\, there will be a meet-and-greet with refreshments. \nHager Auditorium\nIncluded with membership\, $5/non-member\nRegistration is required \nAshley Hall is a paleontologist\, naturalist\, and museum educator with a passion for science communication. Originally from Indiana\, she earned her B.A. in anthropology and animal behavior from Indiana University and has worked at institutions including the Los Angeles Zoo\, La Brea Tar Pits\, and the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Ashley has led fossil fieldwork\, managed collections\, and created educational programs for all ages. Her research focuses on sauropod claws and bird evolution\, and she’s an active science communicator on social media and at professional conferences.
