Youth Summer Writing Camp
July 11 @ 8:00am
An event every day that begins at 8:00am, repeating until July 12, 2019
Registration is now open for Montana State University’s Youth Writing Camp to be held July 8-12 on the MSU campus.
The workshop, hosted by the Yellowstone Writing Project, is not held in a traditional classroom setting and is instead filled with activities like walking field trips and writing games, as well as guidance and feedback throughout the writing process.
The camp is led by teachers and junior counselors from the Yellowstone Writing Project, which is based in MSU’s Department of English in the College of Science and Letters. Participating students will write in multiple genres throughout the camp.
The camp, which runs from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., is open to students who will be entering grades 5 through 12 this fall. A writing showcase will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 12, to allow parents to join the campers to celebrate their creativity.
New this year is an overnight option for out-of-town students, who will stay in MSU’s residence halls and eat in the dining halls. Daily commuters must bring their own lunches.
Early bird registration runs through April 26. Registration will remain open until the camp is filled.
