Starting July 3, WSE will begin distributing $50 vouchers to low-income senior citizens through the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program while supplies last. Last year 50 seniors used the vouchers to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables and honey.
WSE is proud to announce that Shannan Mascari is the new Farmers Market Manager. Shannan is a long-time Livingston resident with over 18 years of administrative experience. She and her husband Jason have three children and can often be found at soccer games, enjoying the great outdoors, or simply relaxing at their home on the Yellowstone River. She is also a hatha yoga instructor.
WSE has operated the Livingston market since 2002. In the ensuing years, music and special event days have been added, and the market has exploded in number of vendors and community engagement, growing from 30 vendors to over 230 vendors last year. “This free to the public market now features prepared food vendors, locally brewed beer, arts, crafts, baked goods, and farm and ranch products featuring the freshest, healthiest food our region has to offer,” Erickson said. “Last year the market generated nearly $250,000 in sales for vendors in just 16 weeks,” Erickson added. “I don’t know of another economic development strategy that benefits as many people and keeps the money circulating in our community.”
WSE would like to thank all our sponsors and vendors! If you are interested in being a vendor or sponsoring one of our special days or talented performers, please call the Farmers Market Manager, Shannan Mascari, at 406-222-0730.
