SUMMARY:Trampled By Turtles w/American Aquarium
DESCRIPTION:Trampled By Turtles w/American Aquarium\n\n\nBig Sky Country State Fair\n\n July 17\, 2025 7:00 PM \n\n\nDoors Open: 6:00 PM\n\n\n\n More Information\n\n\n\n\n\nTrampled by Turtles are from Duluth\, Minnesota\, where frontman Dave Simonett formed the group as a side project in 2003. After losing most of his music gear to car thieves\, he started the band with just an acoustic guitar\, drawing inspiration from bluegrass\, folk\, and other genres that didn’t need amplification. Simonett filled the lineup with other newcomers\, including fiddler Ryan Young\, bassist Tim Saxhaug\, mandolinist Erik Berry\, and banjo player Dave Carroll. The group developed a fast\, frenetic sound blending rock & roll and bluegrass. \nTrampled by Turtles released their first record\, Songs from a Ghost Town\, in 2004. The album stood out for its contemporary sound\, bridging the gap between the band’s rock background and new acoustic style. It wasn’t until their fourth album\, Duluth (2008)\, that they gained recognition in the bluegrass community. Duluth peaked at number eight on the Billboard bluegrass chart\, leading to more festival appearances. In 2010\, Palomino debuted at the top of the bluegrass chart\, and in 2012\, Stars and Satellites reached number 32 on the Billboard 200. The band has performed at major festivals like Coachella\, ACL Fest\, and Lollapalooza. They have since toured with bands like Lord Huron\, Wilco\, Caamp\, Mt. Joy\, and Deer Tick. \nDoors Open: 6:00pm\nAmerican Aquarium: 7:00pm\nTrampled By Turtles: 8:00pm
