DESCRIPTION:The Road Agents are playing the Grey Dog on January 23. \nAfter nearly a decade playing in the far-flung dives\, breweries\, bars\,\nsaloons\, distilleries\, streets\, farmers markets\, and forest service cabins\naround Montana\, from Molt to Malta\, Polebridge to Polaris\, and points in\nbetween\, The Road Agents have leveled up. In the past the Agents ran as an\nacoustic duo (guitar\, mandolin\, singing)\, often enhanced with a third or\nfourth co-conspirator on electric guitar\, harmonica\, fiddle\, or whatever\ninstrument was lying around. \nFor their new record\, “Strange Cowboys”\, bossman and songwriter Jeff\nrecruited a full band for a bigger sound somewhere between the junction of\nAmericana roots\, outlaw country\, rock n’ roll\, and bluegrass\, with a dash\nof psychedelia thrown in. \nThe result is a big\, crazy record that\, via Jeff’s lyrics about the\nlandscape and the bad decisions made upon it\, takes a journey across\nMontana and the American West\, past\, present and future\, for better and for\nworse\, warts and all. \nThe Road Agents will be playing the Grey Dog on January 23 with support\nfrom local string band *Stolen Bibles*\, featuring Jeff Peterson\, Ian Oehler\nand Eli Quist.
