Sign up for the Photoshop topics that you’d like to improve at, or take all five for the price of four when you buy the bundle! (No class the week of spring break.)
Photoshop I–Workflow & File Types, March 13, 6-7pm: Get help finding your best Photoshop workflow. Instructor Becca Tatarka introduces the overall layout of Photoshop and the first steps of in-depth photo editing, from opening images and working canvases to properly saving your work. Gain an understanding of the different file types Photoshop can create and take home a comfortable working knowledge of these Photoshop essentials.
Photoshop II–Layers & Masking, March 27, 6-7pm: Expand your photo editing capabilities with Instructor Matt MaCoy. Layer masking is a powerful tool that allows you to have full control of editing your photos without making any permanent changes. It allows you to apply edits to a specific area of an image without editing the entire photo at once. Get comfortable with using Layers and learn the difference between the different types of Layers, including: populated and unpopulated layers, layer masks, adjustment layers, and more. Next, explore how layers interact with each other. Leave with the ability to better work in layers on your own images.
Photoshop III–Tools “Brushes,” April 3, 6-7pm: Begin to unlock the potential of the extensive Photoshop tool palette. Explore the use of brushes, pen and pencil tools, and erasers. See how brushes interact with the Masked layers, covered in Part II of this Photoshop series. Instructor Matt MaCoy will demo how to edit flaws and make precise edits on your images with both accuracy and control.
Photoshop IV–Tools “Selections,” April 10, 6-7pm: Create precise and realistic edits on your photos that have the pop of professionalism while not getting the “cut and paste” effect of photoshop. Find out how to make and refine selections with all the different selection tools. Learn how Selections interact with mask and adjustment layers that your instructor, Matt MaCoy, covered in Part II of this series and get excited to use your new skills.
Photoshop V–Portrait Editing, April 17, 6-7pm: This final class in your Photoshop Series combines all the essential tools Photoshop has to offer. Instructor Becca Tatarka shows how to use your newly obtained knowledge of layers, selecting, masking, and brushes to adjust your portraits, giving them an ideal, professional look without looking overdone.
