DESCRIPTION:PLUCK AND STAMINA\nTHE LIFE OF PIONEER PHOTOGRAPHER EVELYN CAMERON\nPORTRAYAL BY MARY JANE BRADBURY \nEvelyn Flower Cameron traded a life of English wealth and privilege for a tiny homestead cabin in the austere\, rugged badlands of eastern Mon­tana. She soon learned the art of glass-plate photography as a way to support the Cameron’s struggling pioneer homestead. For the rest of her life\, she rode horseback many miles\, carry­ing her camera around her waist and her wooden tripod in a gun scabbard\, documenting expansive and beautiful Western landscapes along with the homesteaders\, sheepherders\, ranch families and immigrants who lived there. Evelyn produced some of the first photographs of North American birds and was an early proponent of prairie and wildlife conser­vation. Historic interpreter Mary Jane Bradbury brings Evelyn to life through living history as well as a look at some of her outstanding photographs. \nSaturday\, May 10 at 7:00 p.m. \nADMISSION IS BY DONATION AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC\n404 E.
