Montana Racial Equity’s Book Club
Tuesday, March 23 at 6:30 PM via Zoom
The Montana Racial Equity Project invites all interested adult readers to their March Book Club meeting via Zoom. In celebrtation of Women’s History Montana, and in conjunction with One Book One Bozeman 2021, this month’s selection is The Night Watchman by Louise Erdrich.
Copies of the book, in regular and large type, as well as the unabridged sound recording on CD or Playaway and read by the author are available for checkout. Reserve those on our website. An additional ten copies of the hardback edition of The Night Watchman are available for interested readers to borrow via curbside pickup.
This novel is based on the life of Erdrich’s grandfather, who worked as a night watchman and carried the fight against Native dispossession from rural North Dakota all the way to Washington, D.C.
Pre-registration for the MtRep Book Club meeting is required. Register on the Montana Racial Equity Project’s website. A Zoom link will be sent to event registrants 1/2 hour before the book club meeting starts.
This Club reads mostly nonfiction about social justice and issues affecting people of color and minorities. They usually meet the fourth Tuesday of every month (except December).
