SUMMARY:GYC Spring Forward webinar series: Preventing Human-Grizzly Bear Conflicts
DESCRIPTION: Spring in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem can mean bright and sunny one day and a blizzard the next. You never quite know what’s in store for a day out exploring as your backpack is laden with every jacket imaginable.   Here at the Greater Yellowstone Coalition\, another reason to anticipate spring is the return of our Spring Forward webinar series\, where we share some of the amazing work our staff is doing across the region. This year is no different and we have a great lineup for you.   \n Preventing Human-Grizzly Bear Conflicts: Keeping Bears Wild and People Safe  Thursday\, April 24 | 4 – 5 p.m. MT  There’s a saying out here in Greater Yellowstone: “A fed bear is a dead bear.” Once a grizzly bear becomes habituated to a human food source\, they’ll likely get into trouble and must be lethally removed. Preventing conflicts with people is one of the most important and straightforward missions to ensure grizzlies thrive on this remarkable landscape long into the future.   Luckily\, there are many projects that the Greater Yellowstone Coalition is spearheading to keep bears wild\, people safe\, and livelihoods (and trashcans!) intact. GYC uses a wide variety of tools to prevent conflict\, build social tolerance\, and make living with bears possible. Join GYC’s Blakeley Adkins and Erin Steva to learn more about their on-the-ground conflict prevention work and how you can support this crucial conservation work.  \nREGISTER NOW \nPlease make sure to register today to save your spot! If you are unable to attend\, please register anyway and we’ll email you a link to the recording.  Thank you for your support!
