The Gardiner Original Music Showcase is slated for Saturday, June 29 at Gardiner, Montana’s Arch Park from 3-10pm. This live concert event celebrates the song writing, poetry, and original music of Ian Thomas, Jarret Kostrba, Lacy Nelson, Marley Ball, and Daniel Kosel.

The Gardiner Original Music Showcase comes to Gardiner. MT on Saturday, June 29 featuring an all original music concert benefit event for the North Yellowstone Education Foundation. Montana Pig Roast plates, beer, and wine will be available for purchase in Arch Park hosted by Schalene Darr and crew of Yellowstone Grill. This event showcases the songwriting, poetry, and musicianship of five artists including:
Ian Thomas performing solo, with accompaniment, or with his Band Of Drifters; draws on a variety of American roots influences, delivering a captivating raw live performance and distinctive sound from his original compositions on guitar, harmonica and kazoo. His latest release is a full-band album “Live in 2016” of 14 original songs that are deeply rooted in the classic country and American folk sounds. He has shared the stage with The Avett Brothers, Taj Mahal, John Hammond, Cyril Neville, Corey Harris, Sam Bush, Shovels & Rope, The Wood Brothers, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Reverend Goat and Dr. John and more. Jarret Kostrba is a Montana native whose music reflects the beautiful spirit of the mountains he calls home. Bringing uniqueness to every performance, his artistry is within the Heavy-Folk, Soul, and Alt-Country genres. He has shared the stage with acts as varied as Incubus and Charlie Parr, and he has spent more than a decade performing for audiences across the west in several bands. Lacy Nelson was raised in the red foothills of the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming. She has strong Folk and Country roots delivering a fresh perspective with poetry and music that is shaped by the wild prairie, her family, and life on a cattle ranch as the daughter of 4th generation ranchers near Ten Sleep, Wyoming. Lacy placed in the 2018 Wyoming Singer-Songwriter competition and is set to perform at multiple music festivals around Montana and Wyoming performing original songs from her new album.
Marley Ball was an intern with the Billings Symphony, Principal Cellist of the Skyview Philharmonic Orchestra, the Billings Youth Orchestra, and All-State Orchestra in 2017. The young cellist performed at All-State Orchestra all four years of high school, All-Northwest Orchestra in 2017, and also Carnegie Hall as part of the Honors Performance Series. She graduated from Skyview High School in Billings, Montana in 2018 and is pursuing a degree in Cello Performance with hopes of teaching and performing professionally.
Daniel Kosel is a Seattle born, Montana raised poet, guitarist, vocalist, recording artist, songwriter, and touring musician. His sultry guitar and vibrant vocals have creatively blended Country, Rock, and Blues into an original genre known as Crues Music. This former marketing professional, business entrepreneur, and Class C high school basketball coach began his professional music career full-time in 2016 and has since shared the stage with Neil McCoy, Sawyer Brown, Granger Smith, Colt Ford, Aaron Einhouse, Coco Montoya, and Cypress Spring. Daniel has performed hundreds of concerts in venues throughout the western USA and Canada, plus he has recorded and released three original albums; Beartooth Stage, The Rain, and More Than Enough in just the past two years. www.danielkoselmusic.com
The music begins with singer-songwriters performing at 3pm until followed by the main act CELLO+GUITAR at 8pm. This is a charity benefit show with a portion of proceeds supporting North Yellowstone Education Foundation.
