SUMMARY:Free Talk Explores Pride in Classical Music
DESCRIPTION:The Bozeman Symphony\, in partnership with Queer Bozeman\, invites the public to a free community presentation\, “Pride in Classical Music: A Conversation with Music Director Norman Huynh\,” on Thursday\, June 5\, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Country Bookshelf (28 West Main St.) in downtown Bozeman.\nThis engaging conversation will explore the life\, legacy\, and musical contributions of American composer Aaron Copland\, one of the most influential voices in 20th-century classical music and a quietly trailblazing LGBTQ+ figure. The event sets the stage for the Bozeman Symphony’s upcoming performances of Copland’s monumental Third Symphony on June 6–8 at the Willson Auditorium.\nThe symphony will be performed as part of the Bozeman Symphony’s program\, Pablo Returns and Copland’s Third Symphony\, featuring internationally acclaimed guitarist Pablo Sáinz Villegas performing Joaquín Rodrigo’s beloved Fantasía para un Gentilhombre\, a virtuosic celebration of Spanish culture. The concert will conclude with Copland’s Third Symphony\, a sweeping and emotional masterpiece that reflects the spirit of post-war America.\nFor more information about the free lecture or concert\, visit www.bozemansymphony.org or call 406-585-9774.
