MSU sets virtual cross-cultural strategies workshop on Sept. 18
BOZEMAN – Deidre Combs, organizational development consultant, executive coach, instructor and experienced mediator, will conduct a virtual training focused on cross-cultural strategies effective in dealing with today’s problems at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18.
Sponsored by Montana State University’s Leadership Institute and the Honors College’s Honors Presents program, the 75-minute training is free and open to all.
Combs brings to the event more than 25 of experience as an executive coach, leadership development consultant and instructor with extensive background in international relationships. Combs has worked with corporate, nonprofit and government clients around the world and has served as a teaching professor for Columbia University’s Teachers College, and MSU’s Leadership Fellows and Honors programs.
“COVID-19, heightened racial tensions and political divides are just a few of the disruptions we are now facing as a community,” Combs said. “Meanwhile, humans throughout history have had to navigate health, cultural and environmental struggles and devised successful strategies to overcome them.”
During the training Combs will provide four strategies that attendees might apply to overcoming current challenges.
“Lasting Cross-cultural Strategies for Dealing with Today’s Problems,” is co-presented by the MSU Leadership Institute and Honors Presents, and it is sponsored by the Office of the Provost and ASMSU. Attendees must register at https://montanastate.campuslabs.com/engage/event/6400674.
