DESCRIPTION:The BFS Dominican Republic Trip Silent Auction & Raffle is to fundraise for our service learning trip to the Dominican Republic. Sponsored by Springhill Sod & Off the Beaten Path\, this is not an event to miss. Come and win prizes from Stio\, Kenyon Noble\, Angela Zanolari Art\, Marina Kessler Jewelry and many more! Hosted at the beautiful Story Mansion\, there will be light refreshments and entertainment from Last Best Comedy\, and student storytellers will be featured as well. All proceeds go toward aiding student accessibility for this trip. \nWho are we?\nBozeman Field School is an independent high school that focuses on individualized\, experiential education. This is accomplished by going on 4+ week-long expeditions a year to take learning outside of the classroom\, from dam removal in California to glaciers and wildlife in Alaska. Personal growth is promoted\, and we empower students to be resilient\, curious and kind as they navigate their path to purpose. \nWhat are we trying to accomplish?\nWe are partnering with Visions Service Adventures to go to the Dominican Republic in January. Our goal is to raise money to make the trip more accessible to students in our community. \nWhy support this expedition?\nThe trip will include a heavy emphasis on service learning\, with students helping build schools and contributing to the community. Additionally\, students will get to experience cultural immersion and be able to better understand another part of the world. Our future leaders and community members will have built connections and made memories that will influence how they see the world for the rest of their lives. \nAdditionally\, please note that BFS offers extensive scholarships to any students who want to attend. Because of this\, BFS attracts students from all walks of life; therefore\, financial accessibility is a major barrier when it comes to making this trip happen\, as the costs for it are outside of the regular tuition fee. It’s estimated that each student will have to pay $3\,000 to go.
