Give local. Give Big!
On May 2nd and 3rd from 6pm to 6pm, the Bozeman Area Community Foundation will host the fifth annual Give Big Gallatin Valley initiative, a 24-hour celebration of giving to local nonprofits in Gallatin County! This year, the Bozeman Area Community Foundation’s goal is to inspire 5,000 donors to raise $1,500,000 in 24 hours for 180 nonprofits from communities throughout Gallatin County. The participating organizations represent a wide variety of missions that support arts to trails, education to basic needs and much more. Since its inception in 2015, Give Big has helped our community raise over $2,643,500 for 194 nonprofits throughout Gallatin County.
“We are humbled by the outpouring of support for our local nonprofit community during Give Big. Without our hard-working nonprofit partners, generous community members and local businesses, this initiative simply would not be possible! We have a big goal this year but if each person in Gallatin County donated just $15 to a cause they care about, we can reach it!” said Bridget Wilkinson, Executive Director for the Bozeman Area Community Foundation.
On Thursday, May 2nd, this year’s giving fun will begin with a Give Big Kickoff Party in the plaza outside of Big Sky’s Wilson Residence Inn (145 Town Center Ave.) from 4–7pm. And on Friday, May 3rd, the initiative will wrap up with a Finale Celebration to thank all participating donors and nonprofits at the Rialto in Downtown Bozeman (105 W Main St.) from 4:30–6:30pm.
The Finale Celebration is open to all community members throughout Gallatin County and will feature special guests, snacks, free champagne for the first 50 attendees and music by Paige and the People’s Band. Both events are family friendly, free and open to all community members.
Additionally, there will be Donor Lounges, live locations where donors can go and give, hosted by many local nonprofits during the 24-hour celebration. These Donor Lounges will be located throughout the county in coffee shops, restaurants, gyms, bookstores and more.
“Nonprofit organizations play a vital role in building healthy communities by providing critical services that often fill the gaps where the business and government sectors cannot serve,” added Wilkinson. “Give Big is a celebration of all of the invaluable donors who support this thriving nonprofit community.”
