As 80º temperatures start to become the norm, the staff at Norris Hot Springs is amid the change-over for the summer season. The 50 Mile Grill is now open on the weekends, serving the very finest in locally procured lamb, bison, beef and trout. Add those specialty entrees to the delicious burgers, brats, veggie options and fresh picked salad greens offered daily — meals at Norris Hot Springs are drawing folks far and wide. Also offering a wide selection of wines, cider and beer options, as well as house made dessert specials, and you will see why the parking lot at Norris is so packed this time of year. The 50 Mile Grill will be open each day starting in June, bringing you fresh and delicious food from growers and ranchers they trust. Food shouldn’t spend weeks in a freezer or travel thousands of miles to get to your plate. You can taste the difference when you order your meal at Norris Hot Springs.
This is the season where tweaking the water temperature becomes an option, as well. Ask the staff how that works during your next soaking opportunity. Historically there was a hose that cooled off the natural hot water, through research and ingenuity, the system has become much more reliable. Norris features the best in acoustic music from regional and touring performers every weekend on the Poolside Stage starting at 7pm.
The holiday weekend gets started on Friday, May 26th with Tom Georges. He has been playing in the Rocky Mountain states for many years, opening for Poco, Hank Williams, Jr. and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, among others. On Saturday, May 27th, Norris welcomes Sean Eamon. The Butte songwriter gives an original twist to Americana and alt. country on acoustic guitar. Please welcome him back to the Poolside Stage! Mathias will round out the month on Sunday, May 28th. The Bozeman-based singer/songwriter has been playing music under the big sky of Montana for nearly two decades. With powerful vocals and a percussive guitar style, he is known for his dynamic live performances. In 2010, Mathias headed into the studio with Emmy Award-winning producer Jeremiah Slovarp culminating in the release of his debut album Walk Alone. The following year he spent several months performing nightly for international audiences on the popular resort island of Koh Tao in Thailand. Returning to Southeast Asia in 2013, Mathias played in a wide range of locales, from the megacities of Hong Kong and Jakarta to the quaint backpacker haunts of Chiang Mai and Siem Reap.
